The course links several named points: Eggardon Hill (water at 5 miles), an aid station beyond Uploders (10 miles), Abbotsbury Castle (17.5 miles), Hardy Monument (drinks station at 22 miles), Maiden Castle (refreshment stop at 28 miles) and the final aid station at Muckleford (31.5 miles), before returning to Maiden Newton. Navigation support includes GPX files, maps and turn-by-turn notes; marshalls will be positioned at busy crossings but runners remain responsible for crossing safely. Water and squash are available at all controls and runners must refill their own containers; cake, flapjack and other refreshments are provided at each control, with gluten-free and vegan options available if requested in advance. Maiden Castle control also offers sandwiches.
Runners must carry minimum kit for self-sufficiency: an emergency snack, charged mobile phone with data and wifi turned off, waterproof jacket and hat, a water container, and a small race pack. Gates must be closed; failure to do so may lead to disqualification. On-street parking, tea and coffee and WCs are available at the start and finish. Entries are transferable but non-refundable.
