Dorney Lake Evening Triathlon
The Dorney Lake Evening Triathlon takes place at a purpose-built Olympic venue in Windsor. This event supports Macmillan Cancer Support and offers participants the opportunity to compete on a flat landscape designed for performance. The swim portion occurs within the lake, while the cycling and running segments utilize the surrounding flat grounds.
The flat nature of the bike and run courses supports athletes aiming for personal best times. The cycling and running routes consist of multiple laps, with distance flags marking each discipline. Marshals are positioned throughout the course to provide guidance and support.
Participants can choose from several race options:
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 400m swim, 9.5km bike (2 laps), and 2.5km run.
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 19km bike (4 laps), and 5.0km run (2 laps).
- Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim and 20km bike.
Each entry includes chip-timed results, a unique themed medal, and free race photos. After the event, participants have access to post-race refreshments and an event village with various food and drink options. The venue features road and water terrain, with minimal elevation gain on the cycling and running paths. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
