The Heatwave event takes place on August 1, 2027 at Busse Woods Shelter 25, 20010 Busse Woods, Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The program includes in-person races and a virtual option.

Race registrations generally open on October 1, 2026. Listed entry fees include examples such as the Half Marathon at $50 and the 5K and 10K at $38. Youth pricing for the 5K and 10K is available at $17 for ages 12 and under. The Running Buddy Half Marathon requires prior approval to register.
Standard race inclusions vary by event and may include a custom bib, a designer event shirt, and a finisher medal. Chip timing with live results and awards is provided for timed distances.
