About the race
The Dolphin Spotter Trail is a coastal trail event held at Morgan Bay on the Wild Coast, one hour from East London. The 2026 edition is presented by Stellantis South Africa and is staged around coastal and cliff-top trails with views of the Indian Ocean.
Distances offered:
- 35km trail run
- 20km trail run
- 10km run / walk
- 5km run / walk
The 35km race carries over R6,000 in prize money. Entries submitted before 13 September qualify for a free event T-shirt while stocks last. Finisher benefits include a race medal, full medical support, lucky draw prizes and a professionally planned route. Additional on-site provisions listed for participants include shower facilities at Morgan Bay Caravan Park, toasted sarmies at Seagulls Hotel for 30km runners, and Build-a-Burger and refreshments available for purchase at the Morgan Bay Hotel after the event.
The event notes ocean views, rolling coastal trails and the possibility of dolphin sightings. Proceeds support local initiatives including the Kei Rural Dog Project, Morgan Bay Crèche and other community upliftment projects. The event is sponsored by Stellantis and several local partners.
