Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon
The Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon is a mountain trail race held on 5 June 2027 that runs clockwise around the Sassolungo massif in the Dolomites UNESCO area. The course starts and finishes at Monte Pana / S. Cristina and is approximately 21 km long with about 900 m of elevation gain. The route follows alpine trails, tracks and scree, offering varied mountain terrain.
Participation is open only to athletes aged 18 or older. Competitors must be experienced on mountain trails and in good psycho-physical condition; each entrant declares to have these requirements and participates at their own risk. Italian participants must hold a valid competitive medical certificate for athletics and a membership card (UISP, FIDAL or runcard). Foreign athletes affiliated to a federation recognised by World Athletics must provide a declaration from their federation; unaffiliated foreign athletes must present a valid medical certificate.
The race uses electronic chip timing and the total time limit is 4 hours. Intermediate cutoffs apply at Passo Sella (about 8 km, 2 hours) and Rifugio Sasso Piatto (about 15 km, 2 hours 45 minutes); athletes who miss these limits will not be classified and will lose access to race services. Trail shoes are recommended and may be made mandatory by the organisers; the use of poles is permitted.
The field is limited to 600 athletes. Aid stations are placed along the course and at the finish. The event crosses a protected natural area; abandoning waste outside designated bins leads to disqualification. Categories, prizes and finisher medals are awarded according to the official rules. The organiser is ASV Gherdëina Runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
