Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs
Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs take place at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park near Lampe, Missouri, on a network of trails that cross parts of Missouri and Arkansas within a park of over 10,000 acres. The event offers three distance options that share some territory and travel through wooded areas, streams and fields.
The courses are generally not technical but are hilly and somewhat rocky, with features such as rocks, mud, water crossings, ruts and steep hills. Runners should expect variable weather and temperatures and should wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The races are held rain or shine; lightning will delay a start when necessary.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 4 to 5 miles. The 15K has two aid stations; the 25K and 50K have between four and eight aid stations and provide water, sports drink, and light food such as pretzels, M&M's and pickles. Gear check is available for all races; a bag drop is offered for 50K runners and will be transported to a midpoint aid station. Course time limits apply; the 50K has an intermediate cutoff at aid station 4 for continuing on the 50K route.
Age minimums are 16 for 15K and 25K and 18 for 50K. Challenge options pair the 15K with either the 25K or 50K across the weekend; challenge participants must be 18. Amenities include a race t-shirt and a finishers medal for each distance; challenge finishers receive additional shirts and a challenge medal. The event has a no-refund policy. Packet pickup occurs at a pre-race expo and at the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
