2026 Doggy Dash 5k & 10k
The event takes place on March 29, 2026 at Ida Lee Rec Center in Leesburg, VA. Distances offered are 5k and 10k. Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Registered participants receive a finisher medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing.
Course and on-course services
The course features rolling hills and is about 70% cross country and 30% paved. The 10k is two laps of the 5k course. Water stations are provided: three along the 10k at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65; the 5k has a water station at about mile 1.55. Gatorade is available at some water stations. Port-a-johns will be on site.
Registration, awards and event services
Registration fees listed are: 5k $30 (increases to $35 after Mar 15), 10k $45 (increases to $50 after Mar 15). Price increases by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed to runners registered before Mar 18; sizes are not guaranteed for race-day registrants. Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is available. Awards go to the top three men and women overall, plus 1st and 2nd place male and female in the age groups 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race. Photos taken by staff will be posted by the Tuesday after the event.
