About the race
2027 Doggy Dash 5k and 10k takes place on March 27, 2027 at Ida Lee Recreation Center in Leesburg, Virginia. The event offers an in-person race and a virtual run option for participants who cannot attend on race day. The course mixes terrain with rolling hills, approximately 70% cross country and 30% paved surfaces. The 10k is two laps of the 5k course.
Water stations are provided along the route: the 10k has three stations at about mile markers 1.55, 3.10, and 4.65; the 5k has one station at about mile marker 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some stations. Port-a-johns are on site. Race services and logistics include chip timing, a finisher medal, and a technical drifit event shirt.
T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before March 17; extra shirts may be available after that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event and there will be race day registration. Final race results with series points are posted after the event and live results are available during the race via a QR code and online provider. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age groups; top three overall are not eligible for age-group awards.
The event supports Warrior Canine Connection, a nonprofit that trains service dogs for veterans. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
