2027 Doggy Dash 5k and 10k
The event is a running race held on March 27, 2027 at Ida Lee Rec Center in Leesburg, VA. It offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km (two laps of the 5 km course)
The course includes rolling hills and a mix of surfaces, with about 70 percent cross country and 30 percent paved. Water stations are placed along the routes: one station on the 5 km course at approximately mile 1.55, and three stations on the 10 km course at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65. Some stations will offer Gatorade. The event uses chip timing and posts live results during the race, with final results and series points published on the Monday after the event.
Participants receive a finisher medal and a technical Drifit event shirt. T shirt sizes are guaranteed only for registrations completed before March 17; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first come first served basis. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
This race awards the top three men and top three women overall and awards first and second place in the following age groups: 19 and Under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. The event supports Warrior Canine Connection, a national nonprofit that trains service dogs for Veterans. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
