About the race
The Lansdowne Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 26, 2026, at the Potomac Club at Lansdowne in Lansdowne, Virginia. The event includes short distance race options and is part of several series that award points to participants.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 1k
- 5k
Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend on race day.
Runners receive event items while supplies last, including finisher medals for all children and medals for other runners as available, race bibs, and post-race snacks and drinks. T-shirts are provided for the first 500 registrants or by a set cutoff date. The top three male and female finishers receive gift cards: 1st $100, 2nd $75, and 3rd $50. Live results are posted online after the race.
The course begins at the Potomac Club and follows a loop through the Lansdowne neighborhood, passing Riverside High School, circling the conference center perimeter, and returning along Riverpoint Drive to finish at the Potomac Club. Race packet pickup is arranged at the Potomac Club in the days before the event. A port-a-potty will be available on race day.
Proceeds support local nonprofits, including a Loudoun County chapter of a holiday assistance organization with a stated goal to support 50 families in 2026, and American Legion Post 2001 programs for veterans and youth.
