Dia De Los Dobies 5k
The Dobie Dash, also known as the Dia De Los Dobies 5k, takes place at Dorothea Brown Middle School in McAllen, Texas. This community event focuses on health, wellness, and fitness while providing support for the BMS Athletic Department and its student-athletes.
Participants can choose from several distance options:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1K
Participants in the 5K event receive a race bib, a dri-fit shirt, and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to top male and female finishers within specific age groups. The 1K distance includes a finisher medal, with an option to register for a package that includes a shirt.
The event features a cultural theme where participants are encouraged to wear bright colors and sugar skull face paint. Packet pickup is held on the south side of Brown Middle School in the days leading up to the race. All activities are centered at the school grounds located at 2700 S. Ware Rd.
