About the race
The event is a festive running event held on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath near Bingley, West Yorkshire, organised by Its Grim Up North Running. The course follows a well-surfaced canal towpath that is mostly flat; the main changes in elevation occur at the canal locks. The event is chip timed and is licenced by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules.
Race-day provisions include feed and drink stations approximately every three miles, full marshalling and clear signage, and toilets at Bingley Rugby Club near the parking area. Every finisher receives a bespoke festive medal and post-race goodies. The event operates a cup-less policy at feed stations; runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle. Headphone use is restricted for safety: no over-ear headphones, and in-ear use is limited to bone-conducting devices or a single ear only. Some minor road crossings may be unmarshalled.
Parking is available at Bingley Rugby Club for a fee of £5 per car payable in cash, with a short walk from the parking area to the start. Transfers and deferrals are available free via the organiser.
