Do It In The Bush : Trail 5K
Do It In The Bush is a trail running event held on May 5, 2026, at Chickasabogue Park in Eight Mile, Alabama. The event is organized by the Port City Pacers and benefits the Port City Pacers Scholarship Fund. Packet pick-up and late registration take place at the Port City Pacers Clubhouse (358 Morgan Avenue, Mobile, AL) and at the park on race day. Pre-registration is available by mail or in person at local running stores until the Thursday before the race; online registration closes the Friday before the race.
Distances
- 5K-ish cross country course through the trails of Chickasabogue Park
- Fun Run approximately 3/4 mile on paved trail
Entry fees vary by membership status and registration date, with different prices for adults and children and higher fees on race day. To guarantee a race shirt, applications and fees must be submitted by May 9th. Sponsors include Poarch Creek Indians and Cammies Old Dutch Ice Cream.
Awards are given to top overall male and female, masters (40+), grandmasters (50+), senior grandmasters (60+), top walkers, and the top three finishers in standard age groups from 9 and under through 80+. After the event there is an end-of-year party with food and beverages and a presentation of the PCP Scholarship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
