Event Overview
The Do It In The Bush 5K & Fun Run is held at Chickasabogue Park in Eight Mile, Alabama. The event benefits the Port City Pacers Scholarship Fund.
Distances
- 5K cross country course on the trails of Chickasabogue Park.
- Fun Run on a paved trail, approximately 3/4 mile long.
Registration & Fees
Pre-registration is available by mail or in person at local running stores until noon on the Thursday before the event. Online registration closes at 6 AM on the Friday before the race. A discount is available for those who register by April 1st.
Entry fees vary for Port City Pacers members and non-members, with separate pricing for adults and children 12 and under. Race-day registration is available at a higher fee. A race shirt is included, but to guarantee a shirt on race day, applications must be submitted by May 9th.
Awards & Post-Race
Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as top performers in masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters, and walker categories. Age group awards are also presented. A special end-of-year party with food and beverages is held after the race, which includes the presentation of the PCP Scholarship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
