About the race
Do It in the Bush is a community running event held at Chickasabogue Park in Eight Mile, AL on May 22, 2027. The event benefits the Port City Pacers Scholarship Fund and is organized by the Port City Pacers.
The event offers two course options:
- 5K trail run
- Fun Run, approximately 0.75 mile on a paved trail
The trail course can include roots, rocks, and mud puddles depending on weather. If portions of the trail are severely flooded, organizers may switch the 5K to a route using the park roadways and sidewalks.
Registration options include mail entries postmarked by May 15, online registration until May 21, or in person registration in Mobile until May 21. Early packet pick up and late registration are available at the Port City Pacers office on the Friday before the event. Packet pick up and race day registration occur at the Playground Pavilion.
Awards are given to top male and female Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters, and Walker categories. The top three male and female finishers are recognized in standard age groups from 9 and under through 80 and over.
To guarantee a race shirt, applications and fees must be submitted by May 8. A post race party provides awards, food and beverages, and access to park amenities including a splash pad, pickleball courts, playground, and trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
