Do It In The Bush Trail 5K
Do It In The Bush is a trail event organized by the Port City Pacers at Chickasabogue Park in Eight Mile, Alabama, on May 22, 2027. The main race is a roughly 5K cross country course run on the park trails. A separate fun run follows an approximately 3/4 mile route on paved trail. The organizers reserve the right to modify the course for weather or safety reasons.
Registrations are accepted by mail or in person at local running stores until noon on the Thursday before race day, and online registration closes the Friday before the race. Packet pick-up and late registration are available at the Port City Pacers clubhouse the day before the event and at the race venue on race morning. To guarantee a race shirt, entries and fees must be received by May 9.
Fees vary by membership status and age. Member adult and child prices are lower than non member rates, and a no shirt option reduces the fee by two dollars. Day of race entry is available at a higher rate. Proceeds benefit the Port City Pacers Scholarship Fund.
Awards are given to top overall male and female, masters (40+), grandmasters (50+), senior grandmasters (60+), top walker male and female, and top three male and female in standard age groups from 9 and under through 80 plus. A post race end of year party will include food and beverages and the presentation of the PCP Scholarship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
