South 32 DnD Adventure Run
The South 32 DnD Outback Adventure Run is an obstacle-based trail event held in Julia Creek as part of the Dirt n Dust Festival. The course uses outback-style obstacles that are optional under a "challenge by choice" format, so runners may climb, crawl, jump or bypass obstacles.
The event offers multiple course options:
- Dusty Kids Obstacle Challenge - approx 2 km course, ages 5-10
- 5 km - one lap, for ages 11-13, 14-17 and adult beginners 18+
- 10 km - two laps, open to adults 18+
- 15 km - three laps, open to adults 18+
Runners can expect an average completion time of about 45 minutes per 5 km lap. All races start and finish at Kev Bannah Oval at the Julia Creek Combined Sporting Association Building, corner of Julia and Shaw Streets. The 5 km, 10 km and 15 km events are timed competitions; the Dusty Kids course is a separate obstacle challenge.
Entry fees vary by distance and age group: Dusty Kids $30; 5 km kids and youth $45; 5 km adults $60; 10 km adults $85; 15 km adults $100. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women in each distance, with specified monetary prizes for each placing. Race packs include an ankle timing chip, a shirt (size limited by availability), a visor and a drink bottle. The Event HQ provides facilities including toilets, showers and a bag drop.
