Event Overview
The South 32 DnD Adventure Run is an obstacle course run that takes place in Julia Creek, Queensland, as part of the Dirt n Dust Festival. The course includes optional, outback-style obstacles described as "challenge by choice."
Course Distances
Participants can choose from several distances, each with different age eligibility:
- Dusty Kids Obstacle Challenge: Approximately 2 km for children aged 5-10.
- 5 km: For ages 11-13 (kids), 14-17 (youth), and adults 18+.
- 10 km: A competitive, timed event for adults 18+.
- 15 km: A competitive, timed event for adults 18+.
The 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km events involve completing 1, 2, or 3 laps of a 5 km course respectively. Runners can expect an average completion time of around 45 minutes per 5 km lap. All races start from the Kev Bannah Oval at the Julia Creek Combined Sporting Association Building, on the corner of Julia and Shaw Streets.
Schedule & Registration
The Dusty Kids event is scheduled for a Friday afternoon. The 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km runs are held on a Saturday. Race pack collection times are listed for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning before the event.
Entry fees vary by distance and age group, ranging from $30 for the Dusty Kids event to $100 for the 15 km adult race. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women in each race distance. Registration must be completed online; no registration is available on the event day.
Event Rules
Participants must attend a race briefing before their event. Bib numbers must be worn visibly on the front. The courses are marked, and runners must stay on the marked track. Headphones are discouraged for safety. A bag drop is available, but the organizers accept no responsibility for items left there. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
