Event Details
The District Dash 5K is a community running event organized by the Beaufort County School District (BCSD). It takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach on Hilton Head Island. The event focuses on promoting exercise, wellness, and healthy habits across all schools.
Available Distances
- Adult 5K Run Walk
- 5K for students aged 7-17
- A 0.5-mile Kids Dash for children aged 7 and under
Registration and Logistics
During registration, participants can choose which school they are supporting. Families with students at multiple schools may select more than one. The top three schools with the most overall race participation will receive a wellness funding prize for their school’s MUSC Wellness Program.
Race shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by April 20, 2026. There is no race-day registration. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Palmetto Running Company in Bluffton from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and on race day at Coligny Beach from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM.
Program Highlights
The 2026 event includes several new elements. A beach clean-up opportunity is offered for high schools seeking community service hours. The Brooks’ Marathon Kids partnership allows elementary students to log miles during the school year, with recognition at the event for those who complete a full marathon. High schools with Buddy Clubs for exceptional students are invited to highlight partner pairs during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
