Event details
The District Dash 5K is organized by the Beaufort County School District and takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach, Hilton Head Island, SC. The event is intended to promote exercise, wellness, and healthy habits across district schools. Participants may register under a school when signing up; families with students at more than one school may select multiple schools. The top three schools with the most overall race participation will receive wellness funding for their MUSC Wellness Program.
The event includes partnerships and programs aimed at schools: a Marathon Kids partnership that recognizes elementary students who log a full marathon (26.2 miles) during the 2025–26 school year, a Buddy Run/Walk opportunity for high school Buddy Clubs, and a beach clean-up option for high school community service involvement.

- 0.5 mile - Kids Dash for elementary students
- Students ages 4-17 event (age-based category)
Entry fees listed on the event page are $20 for the adult 5K, $15 for students ages 4-17, and $10 for the 0.5 Kids Dash. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by April 20, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Palmetto Running Company (Bluffton location only) and on race day at Coligny Beach. There will be no race-day registration.
