Event
District Dash 5K takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach in Hilton Head Island, SC. The event is hosted by the Beaufort County School District and aims to promote exercise, wellness, and healthy habits across district schools. Participants register with a school affiliation; families may select more than one school. The top three schools by overall participation will receive wellness funding for the MUSC Wellness Program. The event includes a Marathon Kids partnership: elementary schools using the Marathon Kids program can log miles during the 2025–26 school year, students who complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) will be recognized, and the school with the most Marathon Kids participants will receive a portion of race proceeds. High schools may participate in a beach clean-up for community service or assist with event organization. High school Buddy Clubs can highlight partner pairs during the event.
Format and logistics
- 5K : Adult 5K Run/Walk
- Students (ages 4-17) : youth event
- 0.5 mile : Kids Dash for elementary students
Entry fees listed are $20 for the adult 5K, $15 for students ages 4–17, and $10 for the 0.5 mile Kids Dash. Adult price increases after April 30, 2026; student and kids-dash registration ends May 6, 2026. Race shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by April 20, 2026. Packet pickup is Friday, May 8 at the Palmetto Running Company Bluffton location and on race day at Coligny Beach. There will be no race-day registration.
