District Dash 5K : event details
The Beaufort County School District will host the District Dash 5K on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach, Hilton Head Island (1 Coligny Circle, SC 29928). The event aims to promote exercise, wellness, and healthy habits across schools. Participants register with a school affiliation; families may select more than one school. The top three schools by overall race participation will receive wellness funding to support their MUSC Wellness Program. Race shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by April 20, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 8 at the Palmetto Running Company (Bluffton location) and on race day at Coligny Beach. There will be no race-day registration.

New elements for 2026 include a beach clean-up option for high schools seeking community service hours, a partnership with the Marathon Kids program that recognizes students who log a full marathon (26.2 miles) during the 2025–26 school year, and a Buddy Run/Walk feature for high schools with Buddy Clubs. Registration pricing and deadlines vary by event; some student and kids registrations close the week before the race and adult pricing changes in late April.
