Disability Awareness : Val Nora 5K and 2K Run/Walk/Roll
This event is a timed 5K and a 2K run, walk, or roll hosted by Over The Rainbow at the Hill Arboretum (OTR) in Evanston, IL. It takes place on July 12, 2026, and follows the North Shore Channel Trail along McCormick Boulevard and the canal. Registration packages include a t-shirt, bib, and festival tickets; virtual participation is available with race swag shipped the week of July 12 and options to record results between July 12 and July 18.

After the on-site event a festival will take place at the same location with food trucks, treats, music, and other activities. The event honors the memory of a longtime Over The Rainbow resident and is organized during Disability Awareness Month. All proceeds support Over The Rainbow and its resident services, which provide life skills, community programs, and housing that promote independence for adults with physical disabilities. Over The Rainbow operates multiple accessible communities across Northern Illinois and serves over 350 residents.
