Dirty German Endurance Fest : Pennypack Park, Philadelphia

The Dirty German Endurance Fest takes place on May 9, 2026, inside Pennypack Park in Philadelphia. The event uses a figure-8 loop along Pennypack Creek within the park and is organized as trail ultrarunning distances on mostly runnable terrain.

Distances offered:

  • 25K : one loop of the Pennypack course.
  • 50K : two loops of the figure-8 course.
  • 50 Miler : three loops plus a 1-mile dog leg each lap; 12 hours 30 minutes time limit for the 50M.

The course features varied surfaces: soft and occasionally sandy creekside sections, smooth single track, wider flat gravel trail, and about one mile of paved bike trail per loop. Climbs are present but short; the route is well marked and described as not highly technical.

Aid stations are staffed by local ultra-runners and include PB&J, grilled cheese, fresh fruit, bacon and potatoes, Gatorade and soda, and a themed Oktoberfest aid station offering German-style carbs such as pretzels. The finish area hosts post-race food and live music with a festival-style atmosphere; many runners bring tents and chairs to the finish area.

Every entrant receives a full-zip running jacket and commemorative bib. Overall winners receive an authentic German cuckoo clock; age-group awards are traditional German weather houses. Refunds are processed up to 30 days before race day and bib transfers are permitted within a limited window prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
