Diez Vista

Founded in 1997 to showcase the trails around Port Moody, Diez Vista is one of the most historic ultramarathons in Canada. The event takes place within Belcarra Regional Park and the surrounding Buntzen Lake area, featuring a mix of West Coast rainforest trails and gravel service roads.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 50 km
  • Kids Race (~1 km)

The 50 km course involves approximately 2000 meters of elevation gain and loss. Participants navigate varied terrain consisting of roots, rocks, and mud. The race begins and ends at Sasamat Lake, specifically at White Pine Beach. The route includes the namesake Diez Vistas trail, a suspension bridge crossing at North Beach, and loops around Buntzen Lake. There are six aid stations along the course providing hydration and nutrition, though the event operates a cupless policy, requiring runners to carry their own reusable containers.

The Kids Race is approximately 1 km long and is designed as a non-competitive run for children, typically between the ages of 3 and 10. Participants receive special bibs and stickers rather than timed results.

Post-race amenities at White Pine Beach include a BBQ with vegetarian options, soup, and sushi. Registration for the 50 km distance includes a custom hoodie, a branded tote bag, and access to post-race massage services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
