About the race
The Quarter Marathon (1/4 Marathon) is a road race of just over 10 km held as one of the parallel events of the International Poseidon Athens Half Marathon on Sunday 25 April 2027. The course runs along the coastal zone of the Faliron Bay and Leoforos Poseidonos, passing the Flisvos Marina, the SEF area and other coastal landmarks before finishing inside the athletic stadium of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro. Key participant rules and limits: runners must be at least 12 years old. The combined entry limit for the Half Marathon, Relay and Quarter Marathon is 5,000 places; the Quarter Marathon normally occupies about 20% of the total entries.
Entries are submitted and paid online; individual and group (from 10 people) registration options exist. Entry fees vary by registration period and package; the organiser publishes staged pricing and options for basic, enhanced and full tourist packages. Race services included in the participation pack: electronic timing with six control points for the Quarter Marathon, bib and baggage tags, commemorative medal and diploma, optional event apparel, race photography linked to results, closed roads during the race, aid stations roughly every 2.5 km with water and bananas (and isotonic drinks at some stations), medical coverage, temporary WC facilities, baggage handling and a sweep service on Leoforos Poseidonos. Bib collection is organised at the Sofia Befon municipal indoor gymnasium in Palaio Faliro. Operational notes: a two hour time limit applies to the Quarter Marathon; after that the race route is returned to normal traffic and participants may continue on footpaths at their own responsibility.
