Dick Bessel Independence Day Run
The 50th Annual Dick Bessel Independence Day Run takes place in Grand Island at Grand Island Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Rd, Grand Island, NY 14072, on July 4, 2026. The event program includes a short community race and a separate kids race.

Organizers prohibit rollerblades, bicycles, animals, and strollers on the course. A course cutoff is enforced so the community parade can start on time; any participant remaining on the course after the cutoff will be asked to move to the sidewalk.
