Event overview
The Diamond Mountain Triathlon takes place on September 20, 2026, at Lake Welch Beach, 800 Kanawauke Rd, Stony Point, NY 10980. The event is organized by Diamond Mountain Triathlon and the Verrazano Team. Day-of registration is available and a junior entry option is offered with a registration deadline the day before the race. The published entry fees are $110 for the triathlon, $80 for the duathlon, and free for the junior duathlon. The event will be held rain or shine. Course signage and police-controlled intersections will be in place. Race photographers will document the event.
Course and logistics
Distances:
- Triathlon - 0.5 mi swim / 15 mi bike / 2 mi run
- Duathlon - 2 mi run / 15 mi bike / 2 mi run
- Junior Duathlon - 2 mi run / 15 mi bike / 2 mi run
The triathlon swim takes place in Lake Welch. The bike leg is a single 15-mile lap around the park. Duathlon transitions occur at the Lake Welch picnic area. Participants must write their race number on the left arm and leg before the swim; wetsuits are allowed. Any type of bicycle may be used but no rental bikes will be provided. Free public parking is available. Stationary restrooms will be open and water and trash bags will be provided at the check-in table. Draft race results are posted when the final participant finishes and online results are normally published within 48 hours. Awards include medals and merchandise for top-3 men and women in each race and finisher medals for other participants; overall triathlon winners receive a special triathlon suit.
