Devil's Chair Dash or Dawdle takes place on Saturday 26 December 2026 at Stiperstones Inn near Minsterley, Shropshire (SY5 0LZ, GR 005365). The event is described as the oldest annual fell race in Shropshire and one of the UK’s largest participation events on Boxing Day. The course distance is 4.8 km / 3 mi with a climb of 244 m / 801 ft. The route is partially marked and the safety guidance notes that limited experience is required. Minimum age for participants is over 12.
Entries are online for anyone who wishes to have recorded times; walkers, supporters, friends and family are welcome. Teams may enter free of charge. Entry fees are listed as £5 and £10 for families, with an entry form available online and pay on the day offered. Hot soup and sandwiches are provided for all participants. Parking at the venue is limited and car sharing is encouraged. All proceeds are donated to Severn Hospice. The event is insured by the Welsh Fell Runners Association.
