Des Moines Women's Half Marathon weekend
The Des Moines Women's Half Marathon weekend is a multi-event running festival held in Des Moines, Iowa on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026. The weekend includes in-person and virtual options and a variety of race formats organized around downtown streets, Gray's Lake, and the Arie den Boer Arboretum.
Packet pick-up is scheduled during race weekend with hours to be announced. Race organizers note special race apparel and anniversary swag for 2026. A City of Des Moines trail use fee of one dollar applies.
The weekend features several event formats and course highlights:
- Half marathon (13.1 miles) via downtown, Gray's Lake, and the arboretum
- 10K (6.2 miles) follows the same route and crosses bridges in Gray's Lake
- 3-person team relay with each member running about 4 to 5 miles
- Saturday evening 5K with local activities including a braid bar and yoga
- Virtual options with mailed swag
- Double option pairs the 5K with the Half or 10K and includes extra swag
