Derwent Reservoir Trail Runs - 17 May 2026
Derwent Reservoir Trail Runs take place at Derwent Waterside Park, Derwent Reservoir, Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT. The event is held from the south side of the reservoir, which sits on the border of County Durham and Northumberland and is owned by Northumbrian Water.
Most of the routes use firm trails and footpaths, with some sections on grass and through woodland. Two trail distances are offered:
- 5km Trail Run - Age 11+
- 10km Trail Run - Age 15+
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. The event also runs alongside Sprint Short and Standard Duathlons. It is Canicross friendly and allows one controlled dog per runner. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. There is an optional official event T-shirt available for £12.
On-site parking is available for £3 per vehicle, payable by cash or card. SCOTT Sports will run a shoe demo at the event; demo pairs are available on a first come, first served basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
