Dereham 10 Mile Race
The Dereham 10 Mile Race is a road running event organized by Dereham Runners AC and takes place at Neatherd High School in Dereham, Norfolk. This competition serves as the twelfth and final event in the Sportlink Grand Prix Series. The race is held under England Athletics Rules of Competition and follows a course that has been officially measured for accuracy.
The race headquarters, start line, and finish line are all located at Neatherd High School. This facility provides on-site parking for participants, as well as bathroom facilities, although showers are not available. Due to the absence of a bag drop area, participants are responsible for their own belongings. Refreshments, including tea, coffee, and cakes, are provided by club members at the headquarters.
The event features official chip timing, allowing participants to use their results for personal best records. The minimum age for entry is 17 years on the day of the race. Participants must adhere to strict safety rules, which prohibit the use of any headphones, including bone-conducting varieties, and the presence of buggies or dogs on the course.
All participants who complete the race receive a medal. Trophies are awarded to the overall male and female winners, along with various age category awards ranging from Senior to 75+. Medical support is provided on-site by VTS Medical Event Services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
