Derbyshire Dales Trail Run
The Derbyshire Dales Trail Run is a set of organised trail races based at Bakewell Showground in the Peak District. The event offers three distances with varied elevation and scenery.
Distances include:
- 21.5 km (Half Marathon)
- 15 km
- 9.1 km
Routes begin on the Monsal Trail and follow sections alongside the River Derwent. The course passes views of Chatsworth House, the village of Edensor and rolling Peak District countryside. The terrain includes a descent followed by a short climb into Manners Wood before the final section to the finish. Elevation for the distances varies and is provided for each course.
The event provides chip timing, a high quality metal finisher medal, a finisher goodie and a refreshing drink, and a personalised certificate. On-course support includes water stations, course marshals, first aid cover and an event photographer. The route is fully signed using pink arrows and pink tape, with caution signs at hazards and road junctions.
Practical information includes onsite parking in local car parks next to the venue and a plastic free approach that asks participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle.
