Derbyshire Dales Trail Run
The Derbyshire Dales Trail Run is a trail running event based at Bakewell Showground in the Peak District National Park. The event offers three measured distances that use a mix of established trails and open countryside.
- 21.5 km Half Marathon, 400 m elevation gain
- 15.0 km Trail run, 306 m elevation gain
- 9.1 km Trail run, 166 m elevation gain
The routes start on the Monsal Trail and follow sections alongside the River Derwent. Views include Chatsworth House in the distance and the village of Edensor. Course features include rolling countryside, woodland paths, open trails, a descent followed by a short climb into Manners Wood, and a finishing stretch across varied terrain. The race is clearly signed with pink arrows and pink tape, and hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs.
Event services include chip timing, water stations and on course refreshments, first aid cover, encouraging marshals, a finisher medal and personalised certificate, and finisher goodies. The event operates a plastic free policy at water stations so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. Spectators are welcome.
