Derby Triathlon
Derby Triathlon takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026 at Etwall Leisure Centre in Etwall, Derby. The event offers individual and relay entries, plus corporate team options. Individuals must be aged 15 or over on 31/12/26. The closing date is listed as TBC.
Last year 55% of the field were first time competitors. The event follows the rules of the British Triathlon Federation and a BTF referee will be present.
The swim is held in the leisure centre’s modern six lane 25 metre pool. Swimmers start in the shallow end on a time trial basis, then exit via the fire exit and run to the transition area on the back field. The cycle route leaves the school grounds through Etwall village, follows the A516 and country lanes via Radbourne Lane and Sutton On the Hill, crosses the A50 and returns to Etwall with a turnaround at Etwall island. The cycle section is non drafting and will be fully marshalled and signposted. Cyclists must dismount at the line and keep helmets fastened until the bike is racked. The run follows the school perimeter, past tennis courts and a side path by the church, then down Sutton Lane to a turning point about 1 mile out before returning to the finish.
Transition racking is numbered with a separate bag drop. Competitors must register and have their bike and helmet checked. Times are taken from swim start to run finish. Results are posted later the same evening. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
