Event overview
The Denali 100K is a point-to-point endurance race held on June 21, 2026 along the historic Denali Highway in Alaska. The field is limited to 50 runners and their crews and pacers. The route passes subalpine scenery near Alpine Creek Lodge and then west toward the finish outside Cantwell, adjacent to the entrance to Denali National Park. Racers will experience long arctic daylight during the event and scenic mountain and glacier views along the highway.
Course, rules and logistics
The race starts near Alpine Creek Lodge at about mile 68 of the Denali Highway and reaches the Susitna River Bridge at mile 79.5. After that point there are no services or lodging for about 50 miles until the finish near Cantwell. Individual runners must be accompanied by a support vehicle and crew; one pacer at a time is allowed and no single pacer may run more than 30 miles with a runner. The maximum time allowed to complete the course is 18 hours. Runners who finish within the time limit receive a Denali100K belt buckle and a finisher shirt; there are overall awards for men and women.
Registration opens September 19, 2025 and closes May 1, 2026 or when the 50-runner cap is reached; qualifying races must be submitted by May 1, 2026. The race requires qualifying experience (at least one 50K and two marathons in the previous two years or equivalent proof of training). Required equipment includes a personal GPS tracker or inReach, hydration and food supplies, a buff, high-visibility reflective vest and flashing blinker for dusk-to-dawn, and visible race bib. Refunds are not offered; deferments may be made at the race director’s discretion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
