About the race
The Demi-marathon de l’Acadie is a monthly road race in Tracadie established in 2026. The course was changed in 2026 because of the Snowball Bridge closure and now consists of two loops that start and finish at Piscine S.A. Dionne, 4216 rue Hall.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon (21.1 km)
- Half-half Marathon (10.55 km)
Runners registered for both distances begin from the same start line; half-half participants complete the loop once while half marathon participants complete it twice. Virtual versions are available for both distances; once registered, runners may complete a virtual race on a course of their choice and must send a selfie showing their watch with time and distance to the race director by 6 pm on the Sunday of the in-person race. The minimum age to register is 16 for the half marathon and 14 for the half-half marathon.
The race is not a certified course. Registration is online only and race day registration is not available. All fees are non-refundable. Organizers award medals to the first three overall and the first three female finishers in each distance, with medals presented after the race on the second floor of Piscine S.A. Dionne where a meal is served to participants. Runners who expect to take more than 2 hours 20 minutes to finish may request an early start by informing the race director the day before the race.
