Demi marathon de l'Acadie
The Demi marathon de l'Acadie is held in Tracadie-Sheila with a revised course implemented in 2026 due to the closure of the Snowball Bridge. The new route consists of two loops that start and finish at Piscine S.A. Dionne.
The event offers in-person and virtual options. Since May 2026, an additional half of the half marathon distance has been added to a monthly race series held on the first Sunday of each month, so runners can choose the full distance or the shorter option.
Distances offered:
- 21.1 km half marathon
- 10.55 km half of the half marathon
- Virtual options for both distances
Registration is available online; there is no race day registration. Fees are listed in Canadian dollars and are non refundable. A regular registration deadline is specified prior to the race.
Runners who expect to take more than 2 hours 20 minutes may request an early start by informing the race director the day before the event. Minimum ages are 16 for the half marathon and 14 for the shorter distance.
The top three overall and the top three women in each distance receive medals (gold, silver, bronze). Medals are presented on the second floor of Piscine S.A. Dionne after the race, where a meal is provided to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
