Demi-marathon de l'Acadie
The Demi-marathon de l'Acadie takes place in Tracadie-Sheila and was established in 2026. The original course was changed in 2026 because of the Snowball Bridge closure; the current course is two loops that start and finish at Piscine S.A. Dionne, 4216 rue Hall.
The event is held monthly on the first Sunday of each month and offers multiple formats:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10.55 km half half marathon option
- Virtual versions for both distances
Registration is available online only; there is no race day registration. Entry fees in Canadian dollars are: Half Marathon 20.00; Half Marathon Virtual 10.00; 10.55 km 15.00; 10.55 km Virtual 10.00. All fees are non refundable. Payment is accepted online. The course is not certified.
Virtual participants must submit a selfie showing their watch with time and distance to the race director before 6 pm on the Sunday of the in person race. Minimum ages are 16 for the half marathon and 14 for the 10.55 km option. The top three overall and the top three women in each distance receive medals in gold silver and bronze. Medals are awarded on the 2nd floor of Piscine S.A. Dionne after the race where a meal is served. Runners who expect to take more than 2 hours 20 minutes may request an earlier start by informing the race director the day before by 6 pm.
