Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon
The Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon takes place on July 24, 2027 in Delta Junction, Alaska. The event is hosted by the Alaska Flour Company and benefits the Delta High School Booster Club. Two race options are offered:
- Half marathon
- 9K
The course starts near the Alaska Flour Company barley mill and follows a loop of gravel roads and dirt trails through local agricultural land. There are no paved roads on the course. The terrain is mostly flat with a few minor hills, uneven surfaces and occasional muddy spots. Long straightaways run past fields of barley and fireweed and provide views of nearby mountains.
The event is open to participants aged 10 and older. Participants aged 19 and younger receive a $15 youth discount. Active duty service members may take $15 off their entry fee using the coupon code MILITARY. Walkers are welcome and the event allows a generous time limit of 4.5 hours. Professional chip timing is provided by Frosty Feet Timing and aid stations are located every few miles.
All entrants receive a T shirt and a finisher medal; free race photos and a coupon for free ice cream from the Delta Country Store are included. Overall male and female winners receive a $175 gift certificate from Tangle Lakes Lodge, with additional trophies and prizes for other top finishers. Post race festivities and recovery food and beverages are held at the mill.
