About the race
The Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon & 9K is scheduled for July 24, 2027, in Delta Junction, Alaska. It is a non-profit event hosted by the Alaska Flour Company and benefits the Delta High School Booster Club.
The course starts near the Alaska Flour Company barley mill and follows a loop of gravel roads and dirt trails through agricultural land. There are no paved roads. The route is relatively flat with a few minor hills, uneven terrain and possible muddy spots. Several long straightaways pass fields of barley and fireweed with mountain views. Professional chip timing is provided and aid stations are located every few miles.

Entries are open to participants aged 10 and up. Participants aged 19 and younger on race day receive a $15 youth discount. Active duty service members may apply a $15 discount with the coupon code MILITARY. Walkers are permitted. Time limits are generous: a 4.5 hour limit for the half marathon and a 3 hour 45 minute limit for the 9K. All entrants receive a T-shirt, a finisher's medal, and free race photos. Top overall finishers receive trophy recognition and sponsor prizes. Post-race refreshments and recovery food are provided at the mill.
