Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon
The Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon is a non-profit trail race organized by the Alaska Flour Company and benefiting the Delta High School Booster Club. The 2026 event is the inaugural running of the 13.1 Miles course near the Alaska Flour Company barley mill in Delta Junction, Alaska.
The course follows a loop of gravel roads and dirt trails through agricultural land. There are no paved roads on the route. The terrain is relatively flat with a few minor hills, uneven surfaces and occasional muddy spots. Several long straightaways pass fields of barley and fireweed and offer continuous views of nearby mountains.
The race is open to participants aged 10 and up. Youth entrants aged 19 and younger receive a $15 discount off the adult entry fee. Active duty service members may take $15 off their entry fee using the coupon code MILITARY. Walkers are permitted, and the event uses a generous time limit of 4.5 hours, equivalent to a 20:30 per mile pace.
Professional chip timing is provided by Frosty Feet Timing and aid stations are placed every few miles. All participants receive a T-shirt. The top three male and female finishers receive trophies, and the overall male and female champions each receive a $175 gift certificate from Tangle Lakes Lodge for a cabin and canoe rental. Post-race recovery food and beverages are provided at the mill by event sponsors.
Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes July 11, 2026; the registration fee is $50.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
