Delta Chicken Run 5k
The Delta Chicken Run is an annual community running event held in Delta, Ohio. Established in the early 1970s, the race has taken place every year and serves as a benefit for the Delta Parks. The event is held at Delta Municipal Park and is organized as part of the broader Delta Community Chicken Festival.
Participants in the 5k Run receive several event perks. Registered runners are provided with a custom event shirt, provided they register by the July 2 deadline. A custom finisher medal is also available, though it is limited to the first 100 participants who register. As a timed event, the race provides immediate online results for all finishers. Following the run, a pancake and sausage breakfast is provided for those involved.
Awards are presented to top performers across various categories. Recognition is given to the overall fastest male and female runners, as well as masters male and female runners aged 40 and over. Additionally, top finishers are recognized in several age groups:
- 9 and under
- 10-14
- 15-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70 and over
