Course, camping and support
Racing takes place on a closed 1.62 mile loop on hard-packed trail through wooded Lowcountry terrain. The loop has a single aid station that runners pass at the end of each lap. A “Tent City” is located directly on the course for gear access; primitive camping is allowed Friday through Sunday and open fires are not permitted in the camping area. Parking is adjacent to the start/finish area and camper parking is limited and requires prior arrangements. Staging areas for runners are located along both sides of the course and are generally limited to about 12x12 feet.
Rules, safety and awards
Winners are the overall male and female entrants who log the greatest number of miles in each race. Runners must compete in the event they register for; cancellations, transfers or race-day changes are not allowed. Night running rules require a headlamp or handheld light for runners in the 12 and 24 hour races from dusk until dawn. Bibs must be worn on the front and an ankle transponder must be worn for lap counting. Finishers of the timed events receive a 2025 Delirium Ultra finisher medal; individual 24 hour runners who reach 100 miles or more receive a belt buckle.
