Delirium Ultra 24 Hour Run : Beaufort, SC
The Delirium Ultra is a timed trail endurance event offered in three formats: 24 hour, 12 hour, and 6 hour. It is held on a closed 1.65 mile loop of hard packed trail in Beaufort, South Carolina, with a single aid station located at the completion of each lap.
Camping and staging are provided along both sides of the course near the main aid station and start/finish area. Primitive camping is allowed Friday through Sunday and a designated "Tent City" is set up directly on the course; no open fires are permitted there. Staging areas should be no larger than 12x12 and are first come, first served. Parking is adjacent to the start/finish area; camper parking is limited and must be arranged with the race director in advance.
Race logistics include bibs worn on the front, an ankle transponder that must be worn for lap counting, and chip timing. Laps without a transponder will not be counted. Live results are posted as internet connection allows and may be intermittent due to the remote location.
The aid station is stocked with basic first aid and food items including chicken noodle soup, hamburgers, pizza, and a pancake breakfast. Runners in the 12 and 24 hour events must carry a headlamp or handheld light from dusk until dawn. Registration and entry policies do not allow race day changes, cancellations, or transfers.
