Delaware Trail Fest
Delaware Trail Fest takes place on October 17, 2026 at Lums Pond State Park in Bear, Delaware. The event is a trail running festival that includes hiker-friendly options, relay formats, and extended endurance challenges set around the lake.
The course uses the Swamp Forest Trail and is described as fast and flat with minimal elevation. Surface composition is approximately 70% single track, 10% gravel, and 20% wider runnable trails, with lakeside views along much of the route.
Distances and formats:
- 12 km : one lap around the lake.
- 24 km : two laps around the lake.
- 12H Lone Wolf : solo entrants run as many 7.5-mile laps as possible within 12 hours.
- 12H Relay (4-person) : alternating team laps with only one runner on course at a time.
Aid stations are spaced about 3–4 miles apart, with a main station at the start/finish and a second station near mile 4. Stations provide water, Gatorade and a variety of food options; first aid is available at each station and an EMS unit is on site. A shuttle can transport runners back to the start/finish if needed.
Timing is chip based by 2Lraceservices and features an age-and-gender multiplier that can affect final rankings; live results are provided and the event is UltraSignup ranked. All participants receive a premium sweatshirt; 12K/24K finishers receive custom hats and Lone Wolf finishers can earn milestone awards.
