Delaware Running Festival
The Delaware Running Festival is a road race event centered in Wilmington with start and finish at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. The course runs through historic downtown Wilmington and uses city streets and parks.
The route travels across Brandywine Park along the Brandywine River, follows prestigious parkways, passes historic neighborhoods and goes by Rodney Square. The course is laid out to reduce confusing turns and crossovers while showing a variety of city locations.
Participants can choose from multiple race distances:
- Marathon (certified 26.2 mile road marathon)
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The marathon is USATF certified and serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier; historically about 10% to 12% of marathon entrants have qualified for Boston. The festival also offers a referral rewards program with opportunities to earn cash and gear. Non-runners may attend the start and finish area at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park for live music, vendors and family activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
