Delaware Running Festival
The Delaware Running Festival is an athletic event held in Wilmington, Delaware. The race base is located at Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park, situated at South Market and Rosa Parks Drive. The courses take participants through various areas of historic downtown Wilmington and across Brandywine Park on the Brandywine River.
Participants follow a route that includes local parkways, historic neighborhoods, and Rodney Square. The marathon course is a USATF certified road race and serves as a Boston Marathon Qualifier. Historically, approximately 10% to 12% of marathon participants achieve qualifying times for the Boston Marathon during this event.
The festival offers a range of distances to accommodate different preferences:
- Marathon: 26.2 Miles
- Half Marathon: 13.1 Miles
- 10K: 6.2 Miles
- 5K: 3.1 Miles
In addition to the in-person races, the event includes virtual options for all four distances. The start and finish area at the riverfront park hosts a gathering featuring live music and various vendors.
