Delaware Running Festival
The Delaware Running Festival is a set of road races in Wilmington centered on Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park. The course travels through historic downtown Wilmington, across Brandywine Park along parkways, through historic neighborhoods and past Rodney Square, with a route designed to reduce confusing turns and crossovers. The start and finish are at Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park and the event includes activities near that location.
The marathon is a USATF certified 26.2 mile road marathon and is a Boston Marathon qualifying course; historically about 10 to 12 percent of marathon entrants have qualified for the Boston Marathon. The event offers referral rewards that allow participants to earn cash and gear for bringing friends. Non-runners can attend the start and finish area for a public gathering with live music, vendors and family activities.
