About the race
Delamere Forest hosts a spring trail event on 25 April 2027 with three waymarked distances set within the forest near Northwich, Cheshire. The courses use forest paths and sections of the Sandstone Trail, pass around Blakemere Moss and climb Old Pale Hill for open views of the Cheshire countryside.
Distances
- 10K
- 21K
- 42K (marathon)
The marathon is a two‑lap course that passes the event village at the halfway point. Routes are marked with trail flags, tags, A5 arrows and signage, and marshals are placed at major junctions. Organisers provide the GPX file so competitors can check their position and self‑navigate if needed.
Entries include a themed medal, free race photos, chip timing, post race goodies and a bag drop. The event village offers food and drink options and partner giveaways. Race pack collection takes place at the event village on the day; participants should bring booking confirmation and photo ID.
Aid and logistics: water and snacks are provided at two aid stations on the marathon loop and at one on the half marathon loop; the 10K route does not pass a water station. Specific marathon aid locations are recorded at approximately 10.4K, 21.1K and 31.5K. Delamere train station is a short walk from the event village; runner parking is available at Whitefield Car Park, about a 15‑minute walk away.
The course terrain and elevations make the event unsuitable for buggy runners and wheelchair athletes. Dogs are not permitted on the running courses but are allowed in the event village if kept on a lead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
