Race format, heats and finishers
The DEKA FIT format combines ten functional training zones with running. Each zone is preceded by a 500 m run, for a total course distance of 5 km. The average completion time is listed as 0 h 50 m 30 s. The zones start with basic movements and progress so that zones 6-10 focus on full-body movements. Heats are offered at multiple intensity levels, from Age Group up to Elite.
Finishers receive a DEKA FIT finisher tee, a finisher medal with lanyard, and a DEKA FIT Trifecta wedge when a DEKA STRONG and MILE are also completed in the same year. Results can be recorded on the global DEKA leaderboards. Volunteers who choose a shift may receive a free race credit valid for select DEKA and Spartan events.
