Event overview
The Défi Gendarme de fer takes place on 18 October 2025 in Montréal and Québec. It is a trail and obstacle race presented in collaboration with the Gendarmerie royale du Canada and organized by the Fondation de la recherche pédiatrique. The event combines trail terrain with obstacles inspired by police training. In 2024 the event raised more than $220,000 for pediatric research. Current fundraising reported is $134,893, representing 54% of a $250,000 goal.

Three participation formats are available: solo, team, and partners (corporate teams). Solo entries use a personal timing chip for individual times. Team entries (2 to 10 people) give each member a chip and use the average time of the team for results. Partner entries allow companies to register teams and appear as corporate participants. The Vague Élite is a 10 km wave with an isolated start and a professional race photo for each elite runner; the elite field includes competitors from groups such as GTI, the GRC, and Movex Training. A 15-week training challenge runs from 7 July to 19 October with weekly prizes for the most active minutes; prize eligibility requires event registration.
