The Défi du printemps Rouge et Or takes place at Stade Telus - Université Laval in Québec City on 12 April 2026. This is the 18th edition of the event. The program includes a children’s race and a 5 km race offered in two start groups separated by expected finish times. The event is sanctioned at the silver level by the Fédération Québécoise d'athlétisme. Participation contributes to the Fonds Rouge et Or, which supports scholarships for student-athletes.

Bib pickup is available at the PEPS entrance near the ticket office on the Friday before and on the Saturday of the event. Locker rooms and showers at the PEPS are available; participants must provide their own lock and towel and use their bib as access. Outdoor PEPS parking is free on the weekend with three parking lots; some nearby streets will be closed to traffic for the event and organizers advise using the Robert-Bourassa route to the Université Laval exit.
Prizes: medals are awarded to the top three finishers and to winners in each age category. Timing: official results use Gun Time; Chip Time will also be displayed. A medical emergency plan is in place, including a vehicle equipped with a defibrillator and a first aid tent near the start.
