Event overview
The Défi du printemps Rouge et Or takes place on April 26, 2026 at Stade Telus - Université Laval in Québec City, QC. This is the event's 18th edition. The Club d'athlétisme du Rouge et Or took over organization in 2022. The event includes the following race distances:

The 5 km is organized in separate start groups based on target finishing time (under 25 minutes and over 25 minutes). Proceeds support the Fonds Rouge et Or, which provides scholarships to student-athletes across the Rouge et Or clubs.
Practical information
Registration fees are tiered by date; examples shown by the organizer include the 5 km ranging from about $30 to $45 and the 1 km from about $14 to $20. Bib pickup is available at the PEPS entrance near the ticket office on the days before and on the event day. Outdoor PEPS parking is free on the weekend; three parking lots are available. Rue de la Terrasse and Avenue du Séminaire will be closed for the event; access by Autoroute Robert-Bourassa toward the university is recommended.
A medical emergency plan will be in place, including a vehicle provided by the PEPS clinic equipped with a defibrillator and a first aid tent near the start. Streets will be closed to automobile traffic during the event. PEPS locker rooms are available; participants must bring a padlock and towel, and a race bib is required for reception access.
