About the race
Défi des Couleurs Simard takes place 9, 10 and 11 October 2026 in the Mont‑Sainte‑Anne area and is centered on running on natural trails during peak autumn colors. The event offers a mix of rustic and wild single track and forest paths, with some sections rolling and others technical. Trail routes are reported as roughly 80% single track.
Races and noncompetitive options include the following distances:
- Trail: 11 km; 17 km; 26 km; 32 km; 42 km
- Sentiers: 1 km; 6.5 km; 10 km; 21 km
A 5 km night trail is offered the evening before the main event. A headlamp is included for that run and the course is described as marked and secure; that night event is noncompetitive and open to runners and walkers.
Sentier routes run near the Jean Larose river and use firm crushed stone dust surfaces that are described as rolling and scenic. The site also highlights a permanent loop called La Boucle Ferréol.
