DEF 4th of July 5K - Duxbury
The Duxbury Education Foundation presents the 46th annual Fourth of July 5K road race in Duxbury to raise funds for innovative educational programs in Duxbury Public Schools. The event is framed as a community celebration during America's 250th anniversary and highlights local tradition and participation.
The program includes a 5K Walk/Run and a Kids Fun Run held on the track. Entry is limited to 1,000 bibs for the 5K and 100 bibs for the Kids Fun Run. T-shirts are available for up to 1,000 5K participants and 100 Kids Fun Run participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Awards are given to top finishers in each age category and to the most patriotic runner.
The venue is the Steele Athletic Building at 130 St. George Street in Duxbury and the course runs through neighborhood streets. Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic colors or colonial- and Americana-inspired costumes. The event is described as family-friendly and accommodates runners and walkers of different ages.
