Event Overview
The Deer Trail Run Half-Marathon is a trail running event scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026. It is part of the Alpine Trail Race Series (ATRS 3.0). The race is held in Mt. Airy Forest, which is the largest park in Cincinnati, covering nearly 1,500 acres.
Course Information
The half-marathon distance follows a trail route on off-road paths through the park. The course consists of two loops of a 10-kilometer route. The organizers note they retain the right to change the race route as necessary. A five-hour time limit applies to the course.
Race Details
The event features fun themes and costume-wearing is encouraged, with a best costume award given. All finishers receive a themed finisher medal. Participants are automatically enrolled in the Alpine Trail Race Series, earning points toward yearly awards; series winners are offered an international travel opportunity.
Registration is required via RunSignup. Bib pickup begins 30 minutes before the start time and ends 10 minutes prior. Entry fees are non-refundable. Walkers are welcome, but dogs are not permitted on the course.
Series Details
The Alpine Trail Race Series runs yearly from March 1 to October 31. Points are awarded based on finishing position, from 20 points for first place down to 2 points for participation. The top three participants in each age category (male and female) at the series end receive an award, which is mailed on December 1st. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
