Event Overview
The Deer Dash 5K and Fun Run is an annual community event held in New Market, Maryland. Organized by the Deer Crossing Elementary School PTA, the race serves as a fundraiser for school improvements and programs supporting students and staff. The event features two primary distances:

Course Details
The 5K is a chip-timed race that travels through the Summerfield neighborhood of Lake Linganore. Participants start and finish the course at Deer Crossing Elementary School. The Fun Run is a non-timed event conducted on the school's recess grounds behind the main building.
Participation and Awards
The event is open to the public, with specific registration categories for community members and school staff. An awards ceremony takes place at the finish line following the races. Recognitions are provided for overall male and female champions, as well as the top three finishers across several age and grade groups, including elementary grade levels from Pre-K through 5th grade, middle school, and first-place finishers for high school and school staff.
Every participant receives a finisher ribbon or medal. Optional race shirts are available for purchase, and packet pick-up is held on the morning of the event at the school. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
