Deer Dash 5K and Fun Run
Deer Dash 5K and Fun Run is scheduled for May 9, 2026 at Deer Crossing Elementary School, 10601 Finn Drive, New Market, MD 21774. The main event is a chip timed 5K that follows a course through the Summerfield neighborhood of Lake Linganore with the start and finish at the school. The Fun Run is a non timed event held on the recess grounds behind the school.
The event is produced by the Deer Crossing Elementary PTA as an annual fundraiser. Proceeds are used for school improvements and for programs that support the staff and children at Deer Crossing Elementary School. Registration opens February 1, 2026. General registration for the 5K has an advertised fee of $18.00; there are reduced fees for DCES staff and for the Fun Run, each listed at $10.00. Other registration deadlines vary by entry type.
