Death Valley Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K
The event on February 7, 2026 takes place at Death Valley National Park near Furnace Creek and follows a paved out and back route along Highway 190. The course starts and finishes at the Day Use Area adjacent to the Furnace Creek Ranch and passes Harmony Borax Works and Mustard Canyon. The entire route is below sea level and includes views of the surrounding mountain ranges: the Panamints, the Funerals, the Cottonwoods, the Blacks and the Grapevines.

The course has fewer than 500 feet of total climbing and descending and is marked with mile markers on the ground. Aid stations and porta-potties are located approximately every 3 miles and offer water, lemonade, sports bars and a variety of snacks; participants are advised to carry water. The marathon uses a double out and back layout; the half marathon also uses a double out and back with specific turnaround points. Walkers are permitted in the half marathon and 10K.
Field size is limited to 300 total participants. There is a 6 hour course cutoff for the marathon. Race rules include running on the west shoulder at all times, single file when traffic is present, no personal support on the course, and no headphones.
