Course and logistics
The paved course follows the bike path adjacent to Highway 190, passing the Harmony Borax Works and running through Mustard Canyon. The entire course is below sea level and has fewer than 500 feet of total climbing and descending. The marathon is a double out-and-back that repeats an approximately 3.5-mile northward leg to the marathon turnaround. The half marathon uses a double out-and-back format with turnarounds at the 10K turnaround and the half marathon turnaround. The 10K turns at the Mile 3 aid station.
Course markings include mile markers on the ground. Aid stations and porta-potties are located about every 3 miles and provide water, lemonade, sports bars, and assorted snacks. There is a 6-hour course cut-off for marathoners. Walkers are allowed in the half marathon and 10K.
Rules and services
Runners must stay on the west shoulder of the highway and run single file when traffic is present. No headphones or audible music are allowed; violation results in disqualification. No personal support on course. Bib pickup occurs at Athlete Check-in at the Oasis Ranch on race morning. T-shirts are provided to all participants; medals and awards are given as specified for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
