Death by 5k Tulsa : Sat September 19 to Sun September 20, 2026

Death by 5k Tulsa is a 24-hour running challenge held at River West 23rd St Park in Tulsa, OK (432 W 23rd St). The event requires participants to complete ten 5 km races, with a new 5 km starting every 2.5 hours over a 24-hour period. Participants must be present at the start of each 5 km and finish that 5 km before the next one begins. The course uses the paved river trail and crosses the river twice. Running in the dark is expected, so portable illumination such as headlamps or hand lights is required.

Event logistics and services

Registration is initially limited to 300 participants; a waitlist will be used if that limit is reached. The listed price for the 24-hour challenge is $165. Between 5 km segments, participants may sleep in their cars or set up pop-up or camping tents on grass areas at River West 23rd St Park. Participants may also leave the event area between segments if desired. Prepared meals, snacks, water and sports drink (Gatorade) are provided at multiple points during the event. Registered participants receive an event shirt and additional swag; finishers receive a coffin-style award. The event is organized by RunStrong Events and is one site in a series of Death by 5k locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
