About the race
Deafinitely Not Different 5k and Fun Run is a community fundraising run and walk at Vines High School in Plano, Texas, supporting the Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf.
The event includes these distances:
- 3.1 miles in-person run or walk, starts and stops on the west side of the school.
- 1 mile fun run on the school track; may move to parking if the track is wet.
- 3.1 miles (virtual) run or walk on your own; shirt mailed after the event.
Parking for the in-person activities is available on the east side of the Vines High School campus or at the PISD Administration building on Mill Valley. Registration opens 9/14/2026 and closes 4/4/2027. The listed registration fee for the 5k is $35.00; the fun run and virtual options list fees of $30.00. A shirt is included with registration and volunteers also receive a shirt. The event proceeds benefit students who attend the Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf.
Funds support several activities across the school year, including helping families attend an information fair, funding preschool field trips for vocabulary development, providing competition entry for teens, buying books for middle school Battle of the Books, and supplying extra learning materials.
