Dead Last Ultra

Dead Last Ultra is a backyard ultramarathon and festival at Waters Farm in Sutton, Massachusetts on October 24, 2026. The main race sends competitors around a single 4.167 mile loop every hour on the bell until only one runner remains. The field is capped at 100 entrants and registration is open.

The loop runs through pasture, woodland, and farm road, with about half the course on wooded trail along Lake Manchaug and half on open pasture. Runners must return to the gate within 60 minutes each hour or they are removed from the herd. The cowbell signals the start of each loop. The race continues until one runner is left and that runner receives a single handmade buckle called The Brand. All other runners receive a commemorative shirt.

The event also includes a community run and a family oriented festival. Distances offered include:
