Dave's Run for ALS is a fundraising event held in Tucson, Arizona. It takes place on November 1, 2026.
Event Distances
The event offers several participation options:
- 8K (8 kilometers)
- 5K (5 kilometers)
- FitKidz Mile for ages 12 and under
- Dave's Double (participants run both the 8K and 5K)
- Team Hoyt 8k Duo and Team Hoyt 5k Duo
A portion of the event's proceeds will go to ALS research via the Jim Himelic Foundation. The event is named for David Filer, an avid runner diagnosed with ALS.
Registration and Pricing
Standard registration prices are $25 for the 8K, $25 for the 5K, and $45 for Dave's Double. The FitKidz Mile is free. Team Hoyt Duo events cost $40 per team. Prices for the 8K, 5K, and Dave's Double increase after April 30, 2026. Members of the Southern Arizona Roadrunners (SAR) receive a discount on registration fees.
Participant Information
The event includes an award ceremony. Awards are given for the 8K in 5-year age groups, plus overall awards for women and men. A prize is awarded for the largest pre-registered team. Participants in the 8K and 5K may receive a free shirt and finisher medal, while supplies last. Snacks and Eegees are provided for all participants.
