Dash'n'Splash
Dash'n'Splash is a combined run and swim event held in Sandgate QLD, Australia at the Sandgate parkrun start/finish and the Sandgate Aquatic Centre, 231 Flinders Parade. The event raises funds for the QLD Law Enforcement Torch Run to support Special Olympics athletes travelling to the National Games in Victoria.
The event comprises the following distances:
- 5 km run (parkrun)
- 25 m swim at the Sandgate Aquatic Centre
Participants run or walk the parkrun course and then complete a short swim at the adjacent outdoor pool. The Sandgate facility offers an indoor heated pool option for participants with limited mobility or those who require wheelchair access.
Registration includes one event top choice and food and drink items. Each participant receives either an event singlet or an event shirt, one complimentary beverage and one complimentary breakfast burger. Entry categories and published fees include standard entry at A$25, family entry (two adults and two under 16) at A$80 when purchased together, Special Olympics athlete entry at A$10, and under 16 entry at A$20. Promotional entries are available by access code and there is a volunteer registration option for non participating helpers.
