Dashing through the Glow 5K at Lanier Islands
The event is a 5K held at Lanier Islands in Buford, Georgia on November 15, 2026. It offers in-person race entries and a virtual runner option, with separate morning and evening race opportunities. Capacity is limited to 1,500 participants at each race time.
The course passes through the park's holiday light displays. Exhibits noted for the show include Marching Toy Soldiers, 12 Days of Christmas, Old Man Winter, Candy Cane Lane, and newer displays such as Tailgating Santa, Pickleball Elves, and multi-faith lighting at the Chapel on Lanier. Registered participants receive a crewneck sweatshirt or may upgrade to a hoodie for an additional fee; custom finisher medals are provided for all registered participants. Awards are given to overall and age-group winners. Participants may also purchase a keepsake ornament during registration.
Packet pick-up is scheduled in the days before the event at Big Peach Running Co. - Braselton, with the remaining packets available at the race location on race day. Strollers are allowed but must start at the back and walkers; dogs are not permitted. Vendor opportunities are available for the race day, with a 10x10 booth option priced at $250.
