15th Annual DASH for Detection
The DASH for Detection is a community sports event held at Montrose Harbor in Chicago. This gathering focuses on supporting pancreatic cancer research through a selection of walking and running activities. The event offers a scenic route along the Chicago lakefront, providing participants with views of the water while they complete their chosen distance.
The event is designed to be accessible to various participants, as all courses are both wheelchair and stroller friendly. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted at the venue. Beyond the main athletic events, the program includes family-oriented activities such as face painting, sensory activities, and live music.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5K In-Person
- 5K Virtual
- 50-Yard Kids' DASH
The in-person 5K takes place at Montrose Harbor and includes amenities such as coffee and bagels for those attending. The virtual option allows participants to complete their activity at any location during the month of June by running, walking, biking, hiking, or swimming. The event aims to bring together a large community of friends and family to honor loved ones and raise awareness for early detection research.
